Orthodontics
A Beautiful Smile for Life
An orthodontist is a special type of dentist who realigns your teeth and jaws. This is most commonly treated with braces in children and young adults.
Most children have their first orthodontist appointment at about age 7, since alignment issues begin when baby teeth begin to fall out. This is why the earlier a child’s bite is treated, the better chance that they will avoid future dental issues.
At Windsor Family Dentistry, your child’s dentist and orthodontist will work together to decide what type of treatment plan is best for your child.
Orthodontic Services
We most commonly offer the following treatment:
Braces: Metal braces are common for children between the ages of 9 and 14. The majority of children who are treated with braces have them for at least a year, but treatment times change from case to case.
Invisalign: For adults who want a straighter smile, Invisalign is a great choice. Invisalign treatment is facilitated using removable trays, making them a flexible option. Since it requires strong self-discipline, it is typically not recommended in children, but may be suitable for mature teens. You are required to wear aligners for 20-22 hours a day in order to successfully complete the treatment. Learn more.
